feist - inside & out
"Have you ever read a book or picked up a passage or a quote that you think describes your life or defines what kind of person you are?
Feist: Yeah someone I forgot to mention in the literature that fits that is Anais Nin and there’s one quote, I’m paraphrasing in my head, but basically [Nin] says, ‘We see things as we are, not as they are,’ or another way of saying it is, ‘the way you look at a man, so he appears to you.’
It’s that sensation of the synergy of any contact, whether it’s on a stage with an audience…or reading something as two dimensional as a piece of paper, where someone is summarized in a short way that so much charm can be lost, but that it all depends on the amount of imagination you have going into whatever it is that you’re ‘intaking.’ It goes with interactions with people or if you were in a new city you’ve never been to before and it’s the amount of enthusiasm and the amount of curiosity you allow yourself that will make the city great or not."
